Tactile Sensations / k-Danse Company And Scénocosme
Augmented choreographic performance
Tactile Sensations is a choreographic performance in which artists explore the tactile sensitivity of the body and the convergence between the body and technology using interactive sound and light devices. Electricity from the skin and from ‘intelligent clothing’ brings the body and computers closer together, showing the expressive and bodily conventions which amplify our senses. Tactile enhancement pushes the limits of our imaginations, modifies our relationship with the world and influences the ways in which we communicate.
Two persons meet on-stage and transform themselves through physical interaction and tactile exploration. The distance or proximity of bodies and body parts, which come together, repel each other, brush past each other, hesitate and collide until they are all mixed up, is made visible using sensitive materials which generate sound and light from different kinds of touch.
