During this new Rendez-vous With the Future, the “planetary gardener” Gilles Clément (horticultural engineer, landscape architect and novelist) will talk about several concepts which have had a strong impact on key players in contemporary landscape architecture.

Gilles Clément is one of the rare French artists and thinkers with an overall vision of the crossroads between ecology and culture. In 1972 he designed his first projects and created many parks and gardens including the recently-completed Quai Branly Museum.
In addition to these projects, his theoretical and practical works which take into account our entire planet have brought about new ways of thinking in regard to the design of spaces. He is responsible for 3 concepts which have led to new practices: gardens in motion, planetary gardens and the ‘third landscape’.
